Debit Note and Credit Note: Less %, Notes and HSN
The Bill Info grid of Debit Notes and Credit Notes has a Less % column that works out the less amount for you. The Remarks box takes notes over several lines. The Hsn/Sac code is filled in automatically.
Where to find it
- Open Debit Note or Credit Note from the menu and click Add (or open an entry with Edit).
- Click the Bill Info button on the entry line. The Less % column is between Add and Less.
- The Remarks box is below the entry grid.
How to use it
- Enter the Amount of the line as usual.
- Type a percentage in Less %, for example
2.5, and press Tab. Less becomes 2.5% of the amount, and Taxable Amt, Gstamt and Net Amt. are recalculated. - To give a fixed less amount instead, type it directly in Less. Less % goes back to 0, so the typed amount is kept.
- Choose the item with Tab on Item Desc (from the bill's item list) or type it. When the bill line has no HSN code, Hsn/Sac is taken from the item master, or from the HSN last used for the same item in an earlier note. You can still change it.
- In Remarks, press Enter to start a new line. Up to 256 characters are kept.
- Save the entry as usual.
Notes
- Existing notes are not changed: their Less % shows 0.00 and their amounts and postings stay the same.
- The Credit Note / Debit Note print shows the percentage next to Less when one was given, and prints notes over several lines.
- Only the Less amount is used for totals and accounting. Less % is a helper to work it out.
