Agent Commission

The Agent Commission screen calculates the commission payable to an agent on the bills and receipts of the parties that agent handles. The grid lists only the selected agent's documents and numbers them in a Sr. No. column.

Where to find it

  1. Open Agent Commission from the menu (usually under Transactions).
  2. Click Add to start a new commission entry.

How to use it

  1. Select the Agent Name. The agent's ledger, commission % and TDS % are filled in from the agent master.
  2. In the grid, choose an Entry Module (for example a purchase bill, job invoice or mill receipt). The selection list shows only the documents of the selected agent.
  3. Tick one or more documents and confirm. Each document becomes a grid row with its date, party, amounts and received/paid amount.
  4. Pick another module in the next empty row to add documents from other modules. The Sr. No. column keeps numbering all rows 1, 2, 3 and so on.
  5. Check the commission and TDS in the footer and click Save.

Notes

  • A document belongs to an agent when the agent is set on the document itself. When the document has no agent, the agent set on the party's ledger is used.
  • If you change the Agent Name after adding documents, the documents of the earlier agent are removed from the grid and a message lists them.
  • Save is refused if the grid still has a document of another agent.
  • Sr. No. is renumbered automatically when rows are added, removed or saved.
  • A module that shows no documents has no bills of that agent with a received or paid amount in the selected company and year.

Filters and GST details

Use the header to choose exactly which bills come into the entry:

  • From Date / To Date - only documents dated in this range are offered in the Document No list. If you change the dates later, rows outside the new range are removed from the grid and a message lists them.
  • Type - ALL, SALE (receipts against sale bills) or PURCHASE (payments against purchase bills).
  • Book (Commission A/C) - the expense ledger the commission is posted to. It fills in automatically with COMMISSION A/C; you can pick another ledger.
  • Comm On (footer) - REC-PAY AMT works commission on the amount received/paid; TAXABLE works it on the taxable part of that amount (amount x taxable / net bill amount). The grid's Comm On Amt column shows the base and Commission = Comm On Amt x Comm %.
  • Bill Serial - the grid shows each bill's own serial number next to the Document No.
  • Agent Bill No / Agent Bill Date, Goods/Service, HSN/SAC Code (default 996511), RD/URD - details of the agent's commission bill, kept with the entry.

The entry cannot be saved if From Date is after To Date or if a row in the grid falls outside the chosen dates or type.
