Error 721: Distance Between Pin Codes Not Available

Overview

E-Way Bill error 721 occurs when the government GST system does not have the distance mapped between the supplier’s dispatch PIN code and the customer’s delivery PIN code. This prevents automatic distance calculation during E-Way Bill creation inside Merciglobal Cloud ERP, and the system requires a manual workaround.

What Causes Error 721?

Error 721 appears due to the following:

  • The GSTN database does not contain the mapped route distance between the selected PIN codes.
  • The E-Way Bill portal cannot auto-calculate the distance.
  • Merciglobal Cloud ERP relies on official GSTN data for EWB processing; therefore, it displays this error.

Error message:

"The distance between the given pin codes are not available in the government GST system. Please provide distance."

Because the distance data is missing from GSTN, the user must generate the E-Way Bill directly from the official government EWB portal.

Steps to Proceed

  1. Log in to the E-Way Bill Government Portal.
  2. Navigate to E-Way Bill → Generate New.
  3. Enter all required details manually.
  4. Specify the transport distance based on your logistics.
  5. Generate the E-Way Bill successfully.
  6. Update the generated EWB number inside Merciglobal Cloud ERP.

Important Notes for Users

  • Merciglobal Cloud ERP cannot override or guess distances not present in GSTN.
  • GSTN periodically updates PIN-to-PIN distance data, but missing routes must be handled manually.
  • Once the government updates the mapping, ERP-based EWB generation will function normally.
