Multi Role Account
Multi Role Account: A/C TYPE Filters in Account Master – Merciglobal Cloud ERP
Overview
To enhance the efficiency of selecting a Customer or Supplier during data entry, Merciglobal Cloud ERP incorporates the A/C TYPE field in the Account Master. This smart filtering feature improves accuracy and simplifies account selection in modules like Sales Order, Sales Challan, and Sales Invoice.
What is A/C TYPE?
- A/C TYPE is a dropdown field in the Account Master.
-
It categorizes accounts into predefined types such as:
-
SALE_PTY (Sales Party)
- PURCH_PTY (Purchase Party)
- WEAVER
- MILL
- EXPENSE
- INCOME
- ...and more
Note: Users can also define custom A/C TYPEs based on business requirements.
How to Configure A/C TYPEs
Path: Menu > Masters > A/c Masters > A/c Type
How It Works During Data Entry
During data entry in the following modules:
- Sales Order
- Sales Challan
- Sales Invoice
Merciglobal Cloud ERP filters and displays only relevant accounts based on the A/C TYPE.
Example: When creating a Sales Invoice, the dropdown for selecting a customer will default to showing only accounts marked as SALE_PTY, helping to avoid errors.
Handling Multi-role Accounts
In some business cases, a single account may act as both a Customer and Supplier (e.g., a trading partner from whom you both buy and sell goods).
This can lead to issues during data entry, as filtered dropdowns might not display such accounts.
Solution: Custom Filters in Selection Lists
To resolve this, Merciglobal Cloud ERP offers a Custom Filter Mechanism for dynamic account selection:
Key Features:
- Users can select one or more A/C TYPEs during transactions
- The account dropdown updates dynamically based on chosen filters
- Ensures comprehensive visibility of relevant accounts
Benefits:
- Improved precision during data entry
- Time-saving, especially in repetitive tasks
- Efficient management of multi-role accounts
Summary
The A/C TYPE filter is a powerful tool in Merciglobal Cloud ERP that:
- Enables smarter account categorization
- Minimizes data entry mistakes
- Supports complex business relationships involving multi-role accounts
Recommendation: Configure account types thoughtfully and utilize filters effectively during transactions to streamline operations and ensure data accuracy.
